Well, let me start by directly answering your question: No. I have no direct experience with Dynamic Memory and Linux. Yet.
I do know that Microsoft worked pretty hard on it though, so I would have zero qualms about giving it a try.
However, I’ve been meaning to get back to my Nagios post for a very. long. time. Now that my favorite Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) is coming out of its… LTS…, then I guess it’s time for me to move to something newer. Since the newer Ubuntu desktops all use 3d rendering, I’ll have to switch to the Server distribution. So, I suppose I’ll be finding out in the not-too-distant future. Although, I’ve been saying I’m going to get back to that Nagios post for a while now. Not sure what to tell you to expect…

In particular, Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS? (or Debian, or other close relatives) I’ve read “don’t do that” but as you point out, frequently such advise is based on superstition or one bad experience. Any idea how this works with the MS integration tools under HyperV?
Thanks!
